Who provides Shameless

Who may use Shameless

You must be at least 16 years old to use Shameless. Do not use the service if you are under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 16 has created an account, contact us so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, delete the account and associated data.

Your account

Keep your account credentials secure and do not let another person use your account. Give accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity from your account, except where it results from our failure to protect it.

You may delete your account in the app through Profile → Delete account and data, or make a request at our public deletion page.

Shameless and private groups

Shameless provides private, invite-only groups for friendly screen-time competition. Group members can see the group’s members, rankings, and roasts. Only share an invite code with people you want to join your group.

Screen-time sharing is optional. If you enable it, Shameless shares your total daily and weekly phone-use time with groups you join. It does not collect or share individual apps, websites, messages, or typed content.

Your content and conduct

You may create or share content such as display names, avatars, and roasts. You remain responsible for that content. Do not post, send, or encourage:

• harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, or intimidation;
• sexual, exploitative, or illegal content;
• another person’s personal or private information;
• impersonation, scams, spam, or attempts to access another account; or
• content intended to shame, humiliate, or endanger another person.

You keep ownership of your content. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, display, and transmit it only as needed to operate and secure Shameless. This licence ends when the content or your account is deleted, except where limited retention is legally permitted or necessary to resolve a dispute, prevent abuse, or comply with law.

Reports, moderation, and appeals

You can report a roast in the app and block a member from sending you roasts. We review reports using human review, not automated decision-making. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, or cooperate with authorities where required by law.

We apply these measures diligently and proportionately. If we take a content or account action that materially affects you, we will explain the main reason where appropriate and lawful. You can ask us to review a moderation decision by emailing support@shamelessapp.org. Include the account email, the decision you are appealing, and any relevant context.

Shameless is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Service availability and changes

We may update, maintain, suspend, or discontinue parts of Shameless. We will make reasonable efforts to give advance notice of significant changes that negatively affect normal use, unless a change is needed for security, legal, or urgent operational reasons. We may also update these Terms and will provide notice of significant changes before they take effect. Continuing to use Shameless after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, where permitted by law.

Third-party services

We use Google Firebase to provide authentication, data storage, cloud functions, and notifications. Your use of Shameless may also be subject to the terms of your device platform and internet provider. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

Fees

Shameless does not currently charge for use of the service. If paid features are introduced, we will present their price and applicable terms before you choose to purchase them.

Disclaimers and liability

Shameless is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection that applies in the country where you live.
